Artist Statement

Life is an inter-play between light and dark and the texture of porcelain creates the perfect surface to express this dramatic balance.

I am drawn to the way light falls on the surface of porcelain and gradually disappears into the crevices and crannies giving the illusion of incredible depth.  Some of my pieces are less than twelve inches in height, yet give the impression of being much larger.  Even in life, the tiniest of creatures can be magnified if viewed in the proper light.

While the subject of most of my art is based in nature, some are completely whimsical depending upon the shape of the vessel.  I enjoy stretching my imagination to fit the contour of a freshly thrown piece.
